With the new construction of a combined single-court sports hall and indoor swimming pool, the municipality of Kall is responding to the significant damage to the existing indoor pool caused by the 2021 flood event. Against the backdrop of high renovation costs, the decision was made in favour of a new building that is both economically viable and energy-efficient.

The concept by 4a Architekten proposes a compact building that functionally and spatially integrates a single-court sports hall and an indoor swimming pool with a 25-meter pool. By functionally integrating the uses, circulation, operations, and building services infrastructure are efficiently organised as a shared system, enabling cost-effective and sustainable building operation.

A particular focus is placed on resource efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The project is based on a high degree of prefabrication, supporting precise execution, reduced construction time, and lower costs. At the same time, requirements for energy efficiency are consistently addressed.

4a Architekten were selected through a competitive VgV procurement process, reflecting their expertise in sports and aquatic facility design. The project is currently in the design phase.
