4a architects keep on swimming...
Following the presentation of the WASSERWELTEN exhibition at the Aedes Architecture Forum in Berlin, the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart is now being given an atmospheric setting with the 4a exhibition SWIMMING IN ATMOSPHERE – WASSERWELTEN II. From April 26 to June 3, 2024, 4a Architekten will scenographically submerge the glass box in the Academy's New Building 1. As in Berlin, the exhibition is dedicated to the diversity of today's swimming pools and spas: from school pools to thermal spas, from sports pools to wellness facilities.
With their pool and spa buildings, 4a Architects are among the studios that make architecture for people - as architect Günter Behnisch, mentor of the office founders, once put it. Their projects are characterised by a special feel-good atmosphere. But how is this created, what inspires architects to design their often free forms and what factors are relevant in terms of economic efficiency and sustainability? These questions form the central theme of the Wasserwelten exhibition, which was created in collaboration with OUP Visual Communication.

During the exhibition an exhibition talk will take place on May 13, 2024 at 7 pm at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design.
