At the conference “Construction and Operation of Leisure and Sports Facilities” on December 2 and 3, 2025, in Freising, Ernst Ulrich Tillmanns will talk about an innovative indoor swimming pool in modular timber construction – a current pilot project by 4a Architekten, which is being built in collaboration with POOL out of the BOX GmbH as general contractor.
The project shows how sustainable construction, flexibility, and architectural quality can be combined in a new concept for swimming pools. The focus is on two central aspects:
- Fast construction using prefabricated wooden modules – resource-saving and high-quality design
- Flexible usage options through temporary deployment in different city districts
The mobile indoor swimming pool is a forward-looking model project that responds to the current challenges facing municipal swimming pools – from tighter budgets and sustainability requirements to changing location needs.
The conference offers experts from the fields of planning, administration, and operations a platform for current trends, best practice examples, and practical solutions for the renovation, new construction, and operation of leisure and sports facilities.
