Construction work for the new Hirschbach aquatic centre in Aalen will begin at the end of March. In the first step, the excavation pit for the approximately 125-metre-long and up to 40-metre-wide building will be prepared on the southern slope of the Hirschbach valley. The new building with indoor and outdoor pools and a sauna area will be carefully embedded in the landscape of the Hirschbach valley. Floors and roof areas flow out of the slope as greened levels with terraces, forming a restrained counterpart to the multi-terraced houses to the north of the site.
