We are very pleased: The Main Bad Bornheim in Frankfurt am Main received a Architizer A+Awards 2026 in the “Sports & Recreation” category.

For 4a Architekten, this recognition is a special affirmation of a project that brings together many requirements of municipal swimming pool architecture: sports, recreation, family pool, and sauna—compactly organized, atmospherically designed, and engineered for economical, resource-efficient operation.

Located in the immediate vicinity of Frankfurt’s ice rink, the Main Bad Bornheim replaces the former Panoramabad on the Bornheimer Hang. As the general planner, we developed a three-story structure that makes efficient use of the limited space while also creating a high quality of visitor experience. Approximately 900 square meters of water surface, a 25-meter lap pool, a teaching pool, adventure areas, and a spacious sauna area make the pool a versatile venue for schools, club sports, families, and leisure.
